This a very old photo from a collection I just stumbled upon. It was taken in West Virginia in the fall of 2008. This is the only time I tried this technique. My husband drove while I snapped. This type of photography places quite often in my camera club. I only processed in Lightroom using basic tools like exposure, saturation, and vignette.

Vella, to my eye the colors you have been able to achieve in PP are quite vibrant and really draw in the viewer's eye. I feel that there is no fixation point to hold the eye however. From my experience one way to do this is to have a still subject in the image. I did this years ago (couldn't find the image to show you) while riding (as a passenger) down a country road in Autumn. I set the camera for a long exposure time. I was facing away from the late afternoon sun and the car and passengers were silhouetted against the far bank and the multi-colored trees. The shadow was perfectly fixed and the trees were a blur.   Posted: 12/06/2021 07:42:57

Vella, you have created an artistic blur. Nice palette of colors. Very bright. agree with Gary that we do not have a central point to fix our eyes.   Posted: 12/06/2021 09:00:59

Oh I do like this image, Vella. I have judged at club competitions and others for several years and made many comments about composition, leading lines, visual foccus points and the like, but occasionally an image will jump out at you, which breaks all the rules but is so full of impact that it doesn't matter. To me this is just such an image. There in no fixed point, there are no compositional components such as leading lines etc, there is nothing sharp, and yet this one grabs me by the throat and says, "Look at me!" This is a great image. I would not change a thing.   Posted: 12/08/2021 06:11:57

Hi Vella
I have to agree with Guy, to me there is a focal point the dark area about a third up in the centre the blurred trees bend and move towards this fixed point I also love the symmetry,it is probably just me I find the colours a little over saturated and if it were mine I would tone down just a touch but wow its certainly grabs the eye well done.   Posted: 12/14/2021 10:30:55

The vivid colors constitute Impact however I agree with Gary and Isaac, no center of interest to hold my attention either. My comments are not meant to be a dig, I'm viewing the image with a different pair of eyes.   Posted: 12/18/2021 21:11:14
