This shot was taken from a boat shortly before sunrise at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. The fog made everything dreaming as the fishing boat had docked to refuel and get bait for the day on the bay. The harbor seal swam by the on his morning rounds. The photo was edited in Lightroom and Photoshop. Noise was removed using Topaz AI.

Robert, I really like the atmosphere in your image. The five lights and their reflections play to the "rule" of odds. The seal was a serendipitous element that elevates the composition. Nicely done, IMO!   Posted: 10/03/2024 18:27:41

Robert,
I really appreciate your shot of the early morning wharf in San Francisco. I like that you kept te strong feeling of the fog, which is so traditional for SF. Your cropping was excellent. I would look to whatever was floating in the water that is black and perhaps remove it in Photoshop, very easy to do now. Otherwise and excellent reminder of the city and interesting lights and reflections early in the morning. Good job.   Posted: 10/05/2024 23:50:25

Robert, I like how your image captures the fog and water reflections of early morning in San Francisco. The five evenly spread lights works so well in the composition. Your cropping and straightening of the dock is wisely done. The appearance of the seal in the water is the surprise element that adds that spark of joy. Your photo sets a wonderful mood, Robert.   Posted: 10/17/2024 21:00:56

Robert, you have captured the dreamy feeling of the fog and reflections of the lights in the water very well. And the seal breaking up the reflection of the one light really makes the image! Nicely done.   Posted: 10/19/2024 22:19:53

Hi Robert,
Capturing a foggy scene in a low light condition is quite a challenge because fog tends to eliminate contrast. You have turned the simple subject into a moody, atmospheric image. The light reflections on the water and the seal work well.
In my personal opinion, I like the original image more because the fog can be more visible and evoke more feeling.
