I was trying to capture the moment and while I wish the body jumping out of the water was not so dominant, I think the faces of those people receiving the ball tell the story. The faces in the back were rather dark so in Camera Raw I used a brush to lighten them.

The intensity of concentration in the players makes this image.

Great capture of the activity. Everyone was totally engaged and wanting to do their part. Yes, it would have been nice to have the whole ball in the frame, especially since it adds a pop of color in contrast to the blue tones, but still a great story. These folks are serious! The color is good and I like the water dripping from the gentleman serving. It adds movement and purpose to what would otherwise just be a bunch of people in the pool. I agree it would have been nicer to have more of the ball but it's still a good photo.

I do agree about not being able to see the whole ball. Normally, one would complain about the large area not being sharp but it really adds to show the activity going on. For some reason, I can't image my Aquatics group doing this. I think that too many of the women wouldn't like to get their hair that wet. Posted: 09/17/2023 08:18:07
