Autumn Fields by Sol Blechman

December 2021 - Autumn Fields

About the Image(s)

The starkness of the fence seemed to contrast nicely with the lovely rolling hills. It was good fortune that the end of the fence is just where that small curving path is so the eye is taken through the frame. I flipped the image to bring the fence from the left and played with the Sky Replacement tool. Lots of settings there to fiddle around with. Somewhere, on a backup drive I have a clouds folder which I'll need to find.

Happy Holidays, all.

Nice scene and well done. Flipping the photo works well. The grassy field could be a bit warmer color. Nice accentuation of the dark and light in the field adds to the appearance of depth. Very sharp though out.   Posted: 12/10/2021 12:16:14

The fence turned a good photo into a great one. I think grounded and a sense of place. I'll have to remember this when shooting this the of landscapes.   Posted: 12/12/2021 20:35:46

I love this scene. Not sure where you got it, but I just drove through the central coast area of California and saw a lot of this. Well framed by the tree in the foreground. For me, the field color is ok and I like the sky as it is. Maybe adding some clouds would make it a little more interesting, but not needed for impact.   Posted: 12/15/2021 17:16:12

It is a good idea to use a fence as the foreground of the picture. Eyes travel from the black and golden yellowish to blue sky step by step. What story did you make? I miss something in the afternoon.   Posted: 12/16/2021 01:26:35

The fence if the foreground makes the shot. Just the fields wouldn't be as interesting. My eye goes back through the fields into the beautiful sky. Very nice shot!   Posted: 12/16/2021 07:53:47

I like the way you positioned the tree with the fence and trails leading the eye through the composition. You might see if you could get a little of the texture pulled out of the black shadows of the fence.   Posted: 12/18/2021 17:45:22
