Bronze Abstract by Dennis Hirning, FPSA, MPSA

October 2021 - Bronze Abstract

About the Image(s)

It's been so long since I photographed smoke that I had almost forgotten how much that stuff smelled so I did it again. I played around Levels, Hue, Saturation and came up with this that looked almost like a Bronze figure.

Golden Bronze figure matches the black background beautifully with perfect tonality. Besides, I admire your retouch skill.   Posted: 10/05/2021 01:28:55

I'm so surprised and delighted to see how much color you were able to achieve here. Usually these things are much whiter. Were you using some colored filters on the lights? Nice torch like shape.   Posted: 10/10/2021 18:26:45

Most of the color came out by maximum Hue and Saturation as well as boosting the mid-tones with Levels.   Posted: 10/10/2021 19:17:44

I've never seen a photograph of smoke. It's fascinating with the bronze color and an interesting shape.

Just hanging there. I like the gradation in the photo too. A slight breeze from right to left. Clear to cloudy. Cool image!   Posted: 10/17/2021 18:44:59
