June 2021 - Grand Canyon at Sunset

On my way to a rafting trip on the Colorado River in the canyon, we spent a day at the Bar 10 Ranch at the north end of the canyon. Took some ATVs out for an evening run to catch the sunset on the rocks and canyon. Sony a7rIV, Tamron 28-75, iso 400, 1/1000, f 9.0. Some cropping and dehazing in Lightroom.

Well exposed territorial shot and I love the dehazing filter. My eye wants to wonder off to the horizon and canyon. I might of applied 1/3rock-2/3 canyon & horizon. Posted: 06/05/2021 14:35:09
Nice color and precise focus on the near rocks. The fading off into darkness on the right could be opened a bit by the use of color dodging. Wasn't the trip down the canyon spectacular? Posted: 06/06/2021 17:52:43
It was an amazing trip. The canyon was amazing from that point of view and the stars at night! I haven't seen that many stars since I was camping as a Girl Scout (many years ago). Thanks for the suggestion. Posted: 06/06/2021 18:54:45

I like the view that you have taken. The diagonal position of the various rocks works well. I might have lightened the large rock in the foreground to give the eye a place to rest in the image. Posted: 06/22/2021 08:00:16
