Tulips at Ironstone Winery by Joey Johnson

May 2021 - Tulips at Ironstone Winery

About the Image(s)

The Ironstone Winery in the gold country town of Murphys, CA always has amazing flowers growing in containers along all of their walkways. Visited there this spring and this group of tulips were just stunning. For some reason, they had all sort of fallen over in the same direction, so they weren't the usual upright composition. Sony a7riv, Tamron 28-75 lens, iso 400, f5.6, 1/125.

a very nice image. The only suggestion that I can make is to remove that stone or metal block on the left side as my eye goes directly to that object, or blur it out.(my opinion)   Posted: 05/03/2021 08:45:31

Ah, yes. Thanks. One of those things that your mind keeps you from seeing sometimes when working on an image.   Posted: 05/03/2021 11:32:04

You are correct. You can look at something 100 times and never see it and someone looks at it once, and spots it the first time. But it's a a great image.   Posted: 05/03/2021 11:56:33

nice image Joey. The contrast between the pink and green really makes this stand out. Also the tipping of the tulips adds so much to what would be a rather static image if they were upright. I agree with Stuart.   Posted: 05/03/2021 18:19:40

Very nice tulips. Agree with Stuart as well. It's amazing how you sometimes miss things when you are photographing. I know I do.   Posted: 05/08/2021 08:23:28
