June 2020 - Green Pigeon

About the Image(s)

Yellow footed green pigeon : I took this picture in Shahapurabagh, Rajasthan. There were flocks of these pigeons on high tree tops but it was interesting to watch this pigeon break a twig from the tree for nesting material.

Nikon ISO 100, f/6.3, 1/320s, 270mm

Colorful bird, and you captured the colors perfectly. The leaves and some of the twigs distract from the unusual bird, though it is Often difficult to avoid such items; sometimes, you have to take what nature gives you.   Posted: 06/04/2020 19:38:50

Love the colors on this bird. He/She really had to work at getting that branch off. Nesting is the most interesting time of the year, and we have just finished with the babies here in the US. It is amazing how well her colors blend into the greenish leaves. That face is super sharp and the eyes are amazing. And yes the branches are there but that is what you come to grips with in wildlife photography.   Posted: 06/14/2020 14:23:12
