Biker with a cause by Brandon Montgomery

January 2021 - Biker with a cause

About the Image(s)

I was photographing a protest in Downtown Sacramento that was about farmers rights in India. A massive parade of vehicles was creating a blockade of traffic. As I stood on the corner of 10th and L, I noticed a Biker riding in on his motorcycle who was riding in to join the protest. There was a moment in where he contemplated his next move in terms of joining the protest. In this photo he was looking at the incoming parade of vehicles. On his motorcycle was the phrase "No Farmer, No food", which was the slogan of the protest. It was a quick moment so I took this shot before he rode on in. I edited this photo in Lightroom to adjust the colors and to brighten the exposure.

Orange is particularly dazzling in the picture, and the distant view and the close view are echoed. really nice street shot.   Posted: 01/05/2021 08:07:06

I think you did a great job capturing the moment. I like the composition and I also like the other vehicles in the image, including the partial bicycle, I think it adds to the context. I think the exposure is handled well and the light is coming from a good direction. Well done.   Posted: 01/06/2021 17:35:34

Nice story. He looks like he is contemplating. Beautiful bike. Nice to see positive bikers in a parade. Love the color and the foreground-background contrast. True "street".   Posted: 01/08/2021 18:39:39

Sharp and crisps. A 2.8 telephoto lens really creates wonders in seperating the subject from the background that is why it is also one of my favorite lens I carry in my travels. A great photojounalism shot. Good work   Posted: 01/10/2021 05:05:30
