About the Image(s)

A social boundary splits the image. A man begging on the street. The more fortunate, passing by, studiously looking anywhere but at the beggar. In the background, at head height of the passers-by are the signs of a bar, bank and a boutique shop; at the beggar’ head height is a row of rubbish bins, reflecting the relative worth our society places on these individuals. Social boundaries isolate individuals, driving a focus on selfish goals, rather than uniting people to work together for the greater good of all in our society. (apologies for the waffle “ I used this image recently for an exhibition and they required an “Artist’s Statement” 😊)

Excellent photo that makes a powerful statement about merging walks of life. It also matches with the images title.   Posted: 09/10/2020 08:50:03

Great image. I like your commentary but truthfully the image tells it all. I think you handled the scene very well.   Posted: 09/17/2020 17:12:30
