About the Image(s)

Camera Canon 6D, Tamron 28-300 lens at 170mm. ISO 500, f14 at 1/200 second. In Photoshop I cleaned up the background, removed all the wires, etc. and sharpened the image. In Lightroom I made a virtual copy then I cropped the image.

Of course if this were photojournalism I would not have removed any of the background objects as verisimilitude is the goal and expectation in photojournalism. My personal view on street photography however is less restrictive; I prefer candid images but I don't limit myself to those. I prefer not to be spotted while taking the photo but sometimes it is unavoidable and sometimes the subject cannot resist striking a pose.

Great image that shows a moment of passing the reins. I see a sense of timelessness here. Great shot!   Posted: 06/08/2020 19:57:36

Ah the sense of vicarious travel. Much appreciated in these days of covid lockdown. A technical comment. I see some dark fringing on the girl's right shoulder (left of image) that probably results from a slightly too loose selection when you removed the man from the background. It would be easy to make a tighter selection and tidy up the fringe.   Posted: 06/10/2020 03:21:19

Hi Geoff, thanks for the comments. I'm going to take your suggestion and tidy up around the girl. If nothing else it will be good practice. Take care.   Posted: 06/10/2020 12:38:22

Interesting juxtaposition between the modern camera and the timeless horse and cart, good story.   Posted: 06/13/2020 23:53:18
