About the Image(s)

I noticed these two young ladies walking through Southern Cross station, my eye caught by the colours, and asked if they would let me take their photos. I posed them in front of a column to give a relatively plain, neutral background. I liked the mix of colours (though, because I am a bit colour blind, others may see it differently). 1/80 sec @ f9; 24-105 zoom @70mm; ISO 2500.

Great shot, real engagement. I might just tone down the hotspot a little on top of the pink hair, it distracts a little from her face which is a great portrait.   Posted: 05/06/2020 03:03:10

Hi Jill, Thanks for the suggestion. I had a play in PS to subdue the highlights in the hair. I also lightened the faces a little as Lou suggested. I think these edits improve the image.   Posted: 05/07/2020 21:11:42

I think this is a very nice image, I like how you have captured the subjects, I think they seem very natural. I agree with Jill about the pink hair. I think that their faces could be lightened up a little, especially the young lady on the left.   Posted: 05/06/2020 17:37:45

I love the balance of the colors here. Each subject displays their taste in beverage and hair color and they stand out so well. Great capture!   Posted: 05/07/2020 19:38:28

Nice capture. I like the symmetry and splashes of color. The eyes are very expressive. I typically am not one for much retouching but I would suggest just lightening up the eyes a bit so they stand out just a bit more so it would be easier to "read" their faces.   Posted: 05/11/2020 19:36:39
