About the Image(s)

In Silverton, Colorado during summer tourist season. I asked permission to make this picture and had quite a fun time with the man and his dog. My bad for not writing down their names. Fujifilm XPro2, 23mm lens, Aperture priority, ISO 800, 1/450, f/16. Post processed in PSCC21.

Very engaging shot of the man and his best friend you can see the warmth between them. The editing is just right.   Posted: 12/04/2019 18:17:38

Thanks, Jill. I feel a little regretful that I did not write down the name and address, especially the doggie.   Posted: 12/04/2019 19:09:03

I like this image. The man looks relaxed with a good 'connection' with the photographer. The illumination balance between the sunlit and shadow areas is excellent, and the texture on the wall gives a very hand-made feel. There is a steep diagonal from the top right of the shadow on the wall that is repeated in the shadow on the face from the hat brim, the angle of the dog's lead over the arm, and the wristwatch and band, and the line of the dog's back that brings all the elements together for me.   Posted: 12/07/2019 16:35:16

Hey Chuck, really love how you brought him out of the shadows. I normally don't like too much post processing for street photography but this is perfect. Terrific job.

Same here with post processing. I start with shadows and highlights, then go to auto tone, color and contrast. Final is smart sharpen a tiny bit.   Posted: 12/10/2019 17:33:41

I think this is a very good image. To me the composition is handled well and the exposure is good. I like that man's eyes are not totally obscured by the sunglasses. To me you cropped the bottom a little too close, I would like to see his whole hand.   Posted: 12/10/2019 13:39:41
