Waiting for the Lunch Crowd by Lou McLove

October 2019 - Waiting for the Lunch Crowd

About the Image(s)

The photo was taken in Trinidad, Cuba. Canon 6D, Tamron 28-300 lens at 62 mm, exposure ISO 200, 1/400 at f/11

This is pretty much how the raw image looked, I cropped a little off the right side of the image, dehazed a bit and not much more. I really like the colors.

Agree, the colors are very pleasing and photogenic. Good work. As a suggestion, I would make la wider view and a landscape compostion. That may give it more context of surroundings. You could still keep the waiter as the subject.   Posted: 10/05/2019 15:14:43

Ahh yes, I feel the image in drawing me into the scene and the location. The ability to capture the detail inside the doorway is key for me and makes it real. I do tend to like the horizontal as opposed to the landscape view only because of the vertical doorway and capturing the sign above. His legs are long and the stand that the drinks are on are vertical as well. It all makes me keep looking vertical. Also, the slight step, you've taken to the left, in order to capture this image is key. Shooting straight on would have been a total different look. IMHO!! The colors are very true and not over saturated. Very nice Lou.   Posted: 10/07/2019 10:09:24

Thanks for the comments Gene. I also prefer the vertical format for this image for just the reasons you mentioned.   Posted: 10/13/2019 06:59:12

Very nice image, really tells the story of where you are but also a universal story. Lovely.   Posted: 10/10/2019 20:02:36
