About the Image(s)

The was taken with the Olympus EM1 mark ii and hypercolor filter, with a custom WB, using the 14-150mm lens at 150mm 1/250 sec f9, handheld at ISO 400. In PS I used a Hypercolor to monochrome action and then used the history brush to bring back the color in the flower centers.

My Olympus EM mark II camera was converted by LifePixel (full spectrum conversion) I then use one of these two filters, either of which I can also convert to BW. Filter Band: Hyper Color Infrared (470nm) and Filter Band:Super Color Infrared (590nm). Want more info? go to https://tinyurl.com/Lifepixel-IR and then "start here"

Hi Lisa,
I really like this image. The creativity and arrangement of the flowers is outstanding. But I do think the focus is a bit soft and distracting. Perhaps if you used focus stacking the image would have more impact.   Posted: 08/06/2020 11:38:56

Yes, I do agree, there was a lot of DOF and f9 was not enough. Focus stacking would have allowed me to use f4 and have all of the petals sharp. I do a LOT of focus stacking, but someone seem to forget when I am IR mode   Posted: 08/24/2020 19:37:44

Instantly, I see this as fireworks in the night sky. My only recommendation is to add the fire trail from the launching mortar. Nice work!   Posted: 08/11/2020 17:52:37

I think this has great impact and your use of black makes it pop.   Posted: 08/24/2020 09:33:49

Love the comparison to fireworks, did not see that before, but now that's what I see.   Posted: 08/24/2020 19:38:35

Post processing of this image is very effective; nicely done. I like the idea of adding the fire trail.

It's a bit busy. Might consider a simpler more minimal composition of just the 3 flowers on the right.......   Posted: 08/26/2020 09:14:42
