About the Image(s)

Maymont Japanese Garden

Exposure: 1/30 @ f/29 with ISO 100

The tree in the foreground really caught my attention. I wanted it to be the focal point with the water and background trees used to set it off.

Usual post processing of doing white balance using a gray card in a different frame in Nikon NX-D followed by channel swap in Photoshop. Finally, I brought the image into On1 Photo Raw 2020 for post processing. I did some global stretching of the white and blacks in the scene and some contrast enhancement. Then I did some local adjustments to play with tones in the foreground tree.

I love the tree and the colors and composition overall!

1/30 second -- were you on a tripod?
please include camera and lens and IR conversion, we have visitors that also want to know the specs.

only very small things could be done to improve...
--clone/crop tiny bits of trees in sky left side
-- small dot in sky left side between trees in the sky
--clone/crop small amount of blue sky in the trees on the right   Posted: 01/10/2020 17:36:30

Is this a weeping Japanese maple? It makes a beautiful foreground object against the water. It's terrific pink color against the lovely blue pond is quite nice, as are the typical golden infrared trees. Good detail in the sky, nice composition well executed in post.   Posted: 01/14/2020 21:20:31
