I see no problem with the square. The photo is wonderful. The yellow in the space the frog is sitting brings our his yellow. So precise and clear. Posted: 03/11/2023 09:48:38

Thanks David. I did use a ring flash and that resulted in the black background. I thought about using focus stacking, but the frog wouldn't stay in one place very long. Instead I set my 105 mm macro lens to f16 for more DoF and took a chance it would be enough. Posted: 03/17/2023 08:20:31

Square image is just fine and suitable for this composition. I like the shooting angle. I would apply overall noise reduction. Then, partially desaturate and unsharp the wood a bit. Great shot! Posted: 03/24/2023 01:37:48
