Griz Heading My Way by Dan McKenna

June 2020 - Griz Heading My Way

About the Image(s)

Taken in Alaska, with a Sony A7riii, Sony 100-400mm with a 1.4 teleconverter. ISO of 1600, F8, and a shutter speed of 1600. I was pretty excited when the bear started heading my way and I had a van about 100 ft from me. I should have gotten lower so the bear is on the same level as the camera. Something I have found to be very effective with wildlife.

Great photo! I would have been covering the 100 feet to the van! I would like to see more cropping, have the bear a bigger presence.   Posted: 06/09/2020 09:50:00

I like the photo and the composition. The only thing I would change is to make the whole photo more in focus, this would make it look a landscape, or crop into the bear.   Posted: 06/10/2020 20:14:23

Wonderful photo! I really like that you got the bear in mid-stride. I like the background the way it is.   Posted: 06/23/2020 11:48:32
