October 2019 - That Sinking Feeling

About the Image(s)

I took this recently and it captures an intimate moment. It is actually a photograph that I feel is an invasion of privacy but the mating ritual was entertaining and a must to behold. The mandarin duck is a stunning duck and the male has very colorful plumage. They were originally bred in captivity but a few escaped and are found occasionally in parks and lakes in the wild. They are well worth the photo if the opportunity occurs.

This is a beautiful photo! The focus is incredible - the colors and details makes him look painted. The feather details (especially for me those near the water) are clean, precise and perfect. My eyes want to shift the center a little to the right to make her head (and predicament) more in the spotlight.   Posted: 10/11/2019 07:02:20

Beautiful colors. Not too invasive since the female is under water. Great shot!   Posted: 10/17/2019 11:26:54
