Wood Storks by David Bornmann

October 2019 - Wood Storks

About the Image(s)

The image was taken at Gatorland with an Olympus M1 mk2. 1/3200@f8, ISO 200, 40-150mm lens with 1/4 teleconverter. I converted it to black and white and upped the contrast. I like the way it turned out but I think it needs something else.

Great as is. But if you want more, how about flipping it left for right, and then combining the two images with the tree trunks touching near the top?   Posted: 10/01/2019 22:17:54

Also, see a similar effort this month by Mike Cowdrey in Group 18.   Posted: 10/08/2019 19:57:25

The black and white make the birds part of the tree rather than in the tree! For my eyes, a little less contrast would be interesting.   Posted: 10/11/2019 07:10:40
