About the Image(s)

Here is another image that I shoot this past July downtown Rochester. As you can see in the original the crayons themselves are only 4 and are all white. The originals were shot at 5:45 PM so the next night, at the same angle to the sun but in my backyard I took pictures of many different color crayons - second original.

I did the basic adjustments to the image in LR. In PS I duplicated and added the fifth crayon. I then took each crayon color that I needed and made a selection in one PS image that I transferred and Transformed by Warping to the right shape in the final image.

This is a clever shot. Nice job of coloring the crayons.
One possible suggestion. You might reverse the colors of the green and yellow crayons, and the purple and blue, because then all five crayons would be in the same color order as the building behind. But ignore my comment is you specifically wanted to avoid that.   Posted: 10/03/2020 18:23:50

Thanks Stephen. I thought long and hard about putting them in the same order before deciding for a more random orientation. It seemed more "right brained" that way.   Posted: 10/07/2020 12:46:36

You are so darn talented! What a great shot, wonderful colors, and what you did with crayons was brilliant! The flow of the lines in the background architecture keeps a circular movement in the image. The flowering fruit tree sure benefits from this kind of balancing! Very well done.   Posted: 10/05/2020 09:25:25

Gary, your postprocessing acumen, again, is magical. The image is so believably real. I like your spirited and playful use of color and the way the building and crayons communicate that compositional element. Eye candy.   Posted: 10/07/2020 11:12:18

Hi Gary, another great image. I like your creativeness and how you can arrive at a finished image that looks perfectly normal. You display a lot of skill but I think that your creativeness is the basis of your images.   Posted: 10/26/2020 12:47:00
