About the Image(s)
On a visit to the Khuri Sand Dunes near Jaisalmer, India, we rode out into the dunes on camels to see the sunset and an open air performance of traditional music and dance (those photos some other time!). As the sun was going down I positioned myself close to where the camel wranglers were getting ready for the ride back to the desert camp for dinner.
Tech: I used my Olympus OM-D E-M III micro four thirds travel camera and a 40 – 150 lens at 78mm, ISO 200, f/9.0, 1/400sec to capture the image.

Jennifer, I want to come and travel with you!! Your images are so wonderful. WaS the camel in the front just getting up? His back legs do not look fully extended? I love the way the camels are silhouetted against the golden sky with the sun a perfect circle! Perfect!   Posted: 03/01/2023 16:53:00
Thank you Cindy! The camel is just walking - something about the hind legs not being separated caused it to look like that. Thanks for noticing it - I need to look at the other images I took at the same time and see if there is one where the legs look better.   Posted: 03/04/2023 16:07:37
Well planned and executed shot, Jennifer! Beautiful work!
The higher ISO helped keep the shutter speed high enough to stop motion and the final post-production maintaining dramatic light, and illustrating a Silhouette is creative and fits the subject quite well.   Posted: 03/02/2023 06:24:51

Thank you Lance! I appreciate your feedback.   Posted: 03/04/2023 16:09:25
Agree with Cindy/Lance - I don't have much to add. Really well planned/captured. My only suggestion - if you view it on a black background - like this website or a DPI competition - is to put a small what border around it. Without that viewers can't tell where the image ends . . . in this case the lower part - provides nice negative space and helps tell the story about how really dark the scene was. Great capture!   Posted: 03/02/2023 08:12:32
Thank you for your suggestion and comments, Steven! I should probably do that thin white border with all dark photos - I can't think of a downside to doing it.   Posted: 03/04/2023 16:12:41

What else can I say. Very well done. Is the image color as presented, or have you added a tone? Either was, I like it.   Posted: 03/03/2023 11:32:26
Hi Chan, and thank you for your comments. I did not enhance the color, just metered on the bright sky causing the foreground to be quite dark, accentuating the sky color.   Posted: 03/04/2023 16:17:29
