I liked the big red balls and the slowed down the shutter to get that velvet look for the waterfalls.

Love the color or the ornaments, bright lights/reflections and smooth water.
One question as I look at this image - where should I be focusing? I find myself wandering around the image . . . many parts are interesting - what do others see as the focal point? And what could be done to lead the viewer there?   Posted: 12/04/2019 18:27:27

Steven, Allow me to suggest, in this composition - taking in the entire image is a valid option: it is a snap shot of Christmas in NYC and I roam across the entire scene.
However, alternatively, see my suggested 16x30 crop, which isolates and highlights just the decorations. Perfect crop for commercial use, for example.   Posted: 12/05/2019 05:18:19

Hi Graham,
I grew up in Brooklyn, NY, and your image brings back memories of Christmas in the city. I kind of like the full image the way you posted it because it conveys the scale of the city. Thinking back on the other images in this round, I guess scale is important to me. The soft water fall, as well as the water and the shiny surface of the sidewalks with all their varied reflected colors, makes for a very pleasing image. Now I have Christmas songs running through my head.   Posted: 12/05/2019 18:36:43

Fellow, Brooklyn-nite - I lived in East NY as a child. I rarely bump into people from Brooklyn. :)   Posted: 12/06/2019 05:41:09
