November 2020 - Autumn Ivy Leaves

About the Image(s)

Deion: This image was taken last week at National Arboretum using Iphone XR. I enhanced colors using presets in Snapseed. I cropped and resized it using Photoshop.

I really like the way you seem to have an artistic effect on the right of the image but not on the closest tree on the left.....and not on the leaves in front. It is very effective! IS it intentional to have this effect or is it just the way the trees were? IT looks very clever.   Posted: 11/06/2020 00:27:19

Dear Phill,
Thanks for your comments. I did not change much since the scene with the trees all covered by ivy leaves made them like embossed ones.
In Snapseed, I used Looks > Accentuate. Included is my original image.   Posted: 11/06/2020 22:45:48

Kieu-Hanh, the tightly-packed ivy leaves climbing the trunks make me think I am looking through frost-patterned glass. And the scattered brightly-colored areas help move the eye around the image, too. Very seasonal; I like it a lot.   Posted: 11/09/2020 20:57:50

I love the textural contrast between the foreground and what's in the distance.   Posted: 11/12/2020 10:12:40

A very peaceful scene; one where I would like to be walking. Good colors and detail. Where is the National Arboretum?   Posted: 11/12/2020 16:29:12

Thanks everyone for your comments.
Ruth, The scene looks nice with the colorful ivy leaves, but I did not dare to walk past that area because I am afraid that they could be poisonous.
The National Arboretum is in Washington DC.   Posted: 11/13/2020 09:49:16

The Ivy on the trees on the right remind me of an effect in Affinity Photo on my desktop called Diffuse - gives a somewhat impressionist feel and that I've does a similar thing. Very pretty image, well captured and framed for our enjoyment.   Posted: 11/19/2020 16:31:21
