About the Image(s)

I had planned something different this month, but the results of this were a pleasant surprise so I'm sharing it.

I don't understand why these were in the corner of a bookcase with a dull lamp. I would have moved them but they weren't mine.

I am always drawn to flowers and had to take a few shots even though I doubted that they could be brought back into the light. I did very little to the flowers. The tips were natural, bright white. Lighting and background were the issues. The Drama tool helped correct lighting and Pixlr's filter helped blend the background.

Samsung Galaxy s9: (auto) f/1.5, 1/30s, ISO 320, WB auto
Snapseed: adjusted WB; healing tool to remove lamp at right edge and blend shadow on left; drama tool (bright) added; cropped; expand tool used to add small amount of space on right; detail tool for sharpening; selective tool (bright) for brightness in center of facing flower.
Pixlr: added minimal opaque Silk filter for background effect

Belinda your edits are stunning. Such a difference between the original and edited shot here. I think this is just lovely.   Posted: 11/09/2019 17:40:16

Have to agree with Laurie here. It's quite remarkable in my opinion and shows a very good working knowledge of post processing. You have created something beautiful from something ordinary Belinda.   Posted: 11/09/2019 22:51:25

I love the bright edges of the flowers and the subtle lines showing the corner of the room. Your edits were magnificent. I wonder what it would look like if more or all of the stems were showing.   Posted: 11/13/2019 08:23:42

Thank you. I have a version with more stems. It wasn't good. The vase was very tall. A different angle might have worked, though.   Posted: 11/13/2019 20:32:04

Very nice! I like your edits and the image is wonderful. I like the lines of the walls and corner. For me it adds to the image giving it depth as opposed to just the flowers and a nonde background.   Posted: 11/13/2019 19:02:52

There's a WORLD of difference between what you shot and what you got as a work of art. Hard to believe the posies in the darkened room turned out to be such a delightful and stylish image. What attracts me is all the different angles the flower heads have and the color with the glowing tips. I agree with Carl about the background lines.   Posted: 11/29/2019 11:15:47
