About the Image(s)

It seems hard to find photogenic barns anymore. I spotted this one in lower Michigan last winter. I took the image with my Mavic Pro, at ISO 100, 1/390 second at f 2.2. In Photoshop I corrected the perspective and then I replaced the sky, not something I am great at but the original winter sky was really bland. I increased the exposure a little and increased the saturation on the reds and greens. Also I cloned out all the ugly concrete work to the right of the image.

Replacing the sky really adds to the image. Many would have been tempted to add a nice blue sky, which would have changed the mood and not really gone with the lighting on the barn.
I really liked the masking achieves of the trees on the left.

Actually the first thing I noticed how defined the branches of the large tree were in the edited picture.   Posted: 09/06/2020 17:46:02

Really nice barn! Great editing, the sky looks great, the barn is sharp and the colors are great. Great editing on getting rid of the concrete slabs too.
If you could have moved the drone a bit to the right, to hide the home to the left, or cloned that home out... give the barn some breathing space to the left.
Question, did you know the barn owner? Did you ask permission before or after shooting the barn? I see places all the time I would like to stop and shoot, but I'm not sure about asking owners first.   Posted: 09/23/2020 10:42:33

I really like this image and everything you did in post processing really resulted in making the image as compelling as it is. I might have darkened the sky down yet another stop, but that is just personal preference. Masterfully done!   Posted: 09/23/2020 17:54:12
