About the Image(s)

This is a short sequence taken at Vetrahorn in Iceland this February 2020.
I chose to use a panning shot first of the dunes foreground and then a low, gliding shot across the ice field leading up to the mountain. This movement across the ice gives you some perspective of just how large and distant the mountain really is.

I like your image, I think it has a nice mood to it, to my eye the monochromatic look is powerful. In the still I find the dunes in the foreground distracting. I watched your video and I think you did some great cinema work. I felt that the way you skimmed across the water was quite dramatic.   Posted: 06/03/2020 09:46:54

It does look like water, but actually it is ice and well thick enough to hold groups of people! There is a little "bounce" to the low flying, but the poor little drone was fighting some dramatic gusts of wind and considering all did a fantastic job of holding the image steady.   Posted: 06/03/2020 19:12:21

Great video Tony, which drone do you use? It felt like the mountains were staying the same size while the drone moved forward... maybe because the mountains are so huge in comparison... or you have the drone that zooms out while you fly forward?   Posted: 06/30/2020 18:38:32

Drama in the lighting, and just enough detail. Well done.   Posted: 06/30/2020 21:39:14
