When I saw these pelicans, I was struck by the sight of their group living. They have sharp eyes and are good at swimming and flying, but they cannot dive, so they cannot easily catch fish in this deep lake. However, they patiently wait and stare at the ospreys that dive into the water in search of fish. The beautiful American white pelicans then reveal their robber face. With splashing water, they rush from all sides and forcefully snatch food from the mouths of the ospreys that have just surfaced. All creatures deserve our respect.

The American white pelican (Pelecanus erythrorhynchos) is a large aquatic soaring bird from the order Pelecaniformes. It breeds in interior North America, moving south and to the coasts, as far as Costa Rica, in winter. filmed with a NIKON camera at Sand Wool Lake in California.
