December 2020 - "MAKING OF AN EXHIBITION"

About the Image(s)

This is a compilation of video clips created by me, to express how a wonderful photo exhibition is organized. I have been organizing photo exhibitions since 2012 as an organizer; with my own photography club. Initially we had "Third Eye Photographic Society ''. After operating with this club, we have decided to rebrand our initiative as "Phoenix Photographic Society".

I have been involved with both clubs as founder President from the beginning. Together with my team, I have successfully organized a total 07 national and international photo exhibitions involving PSA, FIAP, FIP, GPU, APG and various renowned global photography organizations. This time in 2020, we are organizing a five country circuit (Bangladesh, India, Bhutan, Sri Lanka & Saudi Arabia), together with PSA, FIAP, FIP, GPU & APG recognition.
In this video I have used a sting about me, portraying my passion and profession (Photography & Flying profession) before and after the main subject for a change. The main subject video was created by the compilations of my videos during those exhibitions. It expresses how an exhibition is often organized and managed. I hope you would love & enjoy this presentation.

Kamal,

A thoroughly enjoyable video which left me with many observations and questions.

One of the first things that I noticed was the huge professional printer that you are using. Can you tell us about it? What kind of printer, is it yours or is it Phoenix Photographic Societies'?

I noticed that the framing was being done by you and that all the images were about the same size. Do the frames and matting belong to the Phoenix Photographic Society or to the original artists.

You called it an Exhibition rather than a Competition, are the images judged?

What is involved in creating these Exhibitions, how do you go about getting all these different countries to participate. I love the idea, but think it would be very hard to coordinate.

Is this a free Exhibit or do you charge a fee. Is it open to the general public or just to the different photographic societies?

It looks like there is so much involved. It looks like a beautiful exhibit hall. Can you tell us about that?

It looks like there are several categories to the photography, Color, Mono, Nature, Landscape, Portrait, which makes me think that the images may be being judged.

I noticed that all the signage, and posters were in English rather than Bengali or Hindi, is that because there are so many countries involved?

As I said, I had a lot of questions.

I enjoyed the video very much and it made me want to learn more.

Dick

Hello Dick,
Thank you for your sincere appreciation. The professional printer you see in the video, does not belong to Phoenix Photographic Society. It belongs to a private entrepreneur who happened to be close friend of mine. he is one of the pioneer of printer in the country, a top of the line printing machine. I don't recall the exact brand though.

The framing that you see in the video is a standard size which we have decided for our international exhibitions. The frames belongs to the artist from across the globe. After the exhibition is over, we sent the image without the frame to their authors by courier.

Exhibition is a standard term, for a concluded contest with the winning images. All the images you saw were judged and they are the top hundred award winning images from the salon that we have organized. This was from 2018 and was titled - Bangladesh International Salon 2018. This contest had recognition from FIAP, PSA, GPU, ICS & FI.

Actually a mammoth work behind this exhibition is always a must process. Before we declare we select our team; from our organization carefully. Their responsibilities are carefully distributed. The each members of the team accomplished their assigned task and we achieve a successful international competition. I would not say it is hard, I would rather say it is achievable; if you have the right team with you.

It is not a free exhibit. This is part of an international photography contest. When the authors participated, they paid a mandatory entry fees. It is open to all amateur & professional. Currently we are campaigning an international contest, titled "Phoenix International Photography Planet Award 2020". You can also participate and for more details you can visit www.phoenix-photo.org . We have recognitions from FIAP, PSA, GPU , FIP, APG & PIPC. We have over 750 awards in this contest and will be judged by world class jury panel. You can go through the website and will have some ideas about it's making.

This gallery is renowned place for art and culture. Its called "Alliance Française de Dhaka" you can google it.

BIS 2018 had total 5 sections- Open Monochrome, Open Color, Photo Travel, Nature, Wildlife. You will be surprised that we received closed to 8364 images from 67 countries out of 640 entrants.

Yes our second language is English, and as it is an international competition; we always practice English as medium of language.

I am happy that you asked. Now you have the answers. I will be happy to answer more questions you might have my friend.

Hope to hear from you.

Cheers.
Kamal.

Kamal,
1. The opening with professional videography team
2. Camera brings audience to the preparation of the exhibition
3. (0.48" - 1.28") covers over 30 clips, averagely less 3 second per clip, it keeps attracting audience's attention. I really like it, otherwise audience may get boring if you run them as long footage
4. Then (1.34" - 2.09") camera is slowly pointing the exhibition wall panning from one photo frame to another and let the audience see the detailed contents
5. At the opening and ending nice to see the director and videographer

I also like Dick's questions and curious to have answers   Posted: 11/29/2020 17:42:33
