About the Image(s)

Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canadian side, Sept. 14, 2020
(Note the Main Image is Image-2)

I caught a glimpse of a shadow and photographed what lie hidden below without being sure what it was.

Settings: 1/500 sec. F/9 ISO 320, 125mm.

I did global edits of the image in LR. Using Silver Efex, I decreased brightness and increased contrast and structure and used the coffee toning filter and the red filter. In Image-1 I used the Kodak ISO-32 panotomic film layer, but not in Image-2.

On my first edit, I found that some magenta bled through the original monochrome conversion so decreased the magenta tint. This resolved the problem. I tested this on two images taken two secs apart. The spray pattern of the water is different.

Judy, this is a very engaging image! There is so much happening in the scene, but it is not over powering. The range of grey-scale is beautiful. Well composed and edited into BW. Well done!   Posted: 10/12/2020 13:46:21

I love the mood
the intensity of the water hitting the rocks
the steam coming off the water is cool too
Nice choice to do this in BW   Posted: 10/19/2020 17:16:49
