Independence Day by Prasad Indulkar

September 2020 - Independence Day

About the Image(s)

Last Month we celebrated our Independence Day on 15th August though it was COVID situation people did come out to celebrate it with Flag hoisting and Singing National Anthem , Our Cities most Iconic government structures were painted in Tri colors as in our flag using Lights. So i ventured our late night to capture the same in my camera. Again rarity being the less number of people in frame. Which has never ever happened in history !.

I know our Digital photos should be of 1024 x 768 ,however i have composed and edited this image as 16:9 , so i am maintaining this format . ( I also urge PSA to start considering to change the Aspect ratio and image submission parametres to suit the current salon's and circuits most popular format being 16:9 and 2 mb).

This image is a composite image of 7 vertically shot images with approx 20-25% overlapping areas , stitched in Photoshop.

The single Lady you see towards the left , she too was there late in night capturing this magnificent building in her Mobile phone camera. I waited for long for her to move out of the frame , however she was just not content with her clicks and she was continuously changing her position and angle to frame her shot . Also the cops were not allowing us to wait for long , as due to Covid people are not encouraged to be out of homes without any urgent work . So the Cops were continuously asking us to leave . So eventually I quickly clicked by shots handheld and left for other buildings pictures .

To be honest i did like the lady in the final image she does add a humane touch to it.

Your photos and knowledge of photography skills constantly amaze me. The colors, details with a single human touch are just fabulous. The government should use this in their brochures. I love how the lines( cross walks?) leads the way to this magnificent building.   Posted: 09/15/2020 07:45:31

So beautiful. The colors are exquisite, as though it is embedded with rubies and emeralds, and the reflection on the street enhances it all.   Posted: 09/20/2020 18:17:37
