Iguana by Kathleen Colligan

March 2020 - Iguana

About the Image(s)

I spotted this male iguana with full mating colors while on a walk in Bokeelia FL on 1/20/20 These iguanas are invasive but still so interesting to look at. It was late afternoon and located in a shaded area.
F4.0 1/2500 sec ISO 160 Sony Rx10IV. ( aperture priority)
Very little post processing was done but maybe should do something about the bottom right smudge. ( cropped, sharpened a bit with Lightroom, etc) This photo was entered in a small local contest this past weekend and excited to get my first blue ribbon ever in nature category.

What a beautiful nature image. The colouring and details of the leathery skin of the Iguana are fascinating. The image is perfectly captured. It's a great shot.   Posted: 03/09/2020 19:09:48

What a great capture! The detail and colors in the skin are fascinating, and I think it's composed perfectly. I love how he has his head up like he's posing for you. Might it be beneficial to try and sharpen the edge of the orange flap a little, or not?   Posted: 03/17/2020 12:28:34
