Fall Leaves by Andrew Klein

January 2020 - Fall Leaves

About the Image(s)

I was out photographing other things when I walked by this. Some light cropping, a bit of added contrast and saturation, this is what I "felt" I saw. Shot with a 50mm f2 lens on a full frame sensor.

This could be an impressionist painting or an abstract image.
I love the strong yellow of the leaves interspersed with brown and red autumn colours. The grey tree trunks provide the image with an irregular pattern. The image offers an interesting aspect of a forest in autumn colours. Maybe it can be made more abstract by adding blur or distortion filters....   Posted: 01/08/2020 01:12:56

Interesting thought about the distortion or blur. I did all I could to freeze this and maybe I could have used a slower shutter speed and moved the camera. Hmmm. Thanks for the idea.   Posted: 01/08/2020 07:55:51

Very nice capture of the season , thought being in western India i have never seen or experienced this season , but from movies and images i see online I can only imagine . As rightly pointed out by Ruth , little blurr would add some mystery to the image.

Well balanced and exposed image.   Posted: 01/08/2020 22:53:55

Beautiful shot of glorious fall in full force with so many golden leaves. The greenish bark on the tree in front adds contrast to the image. I went on daily walks up north this fall and understand why you stopped to take this photo.   Posted: 01/10/2020 10:32:54

A wonderfully warm mix of colors and a great example of all that autumn is. I, too, love the contrast between the leaves and trunks, but I wonder what it would do if the lower horizontal branch in the center were removed...   Posted: 01/12/2020 16:52:31
