A giant from within by Holly Moore, PPSA

August 2019 - A giant from within

About the Image(s)

Attached is my photo for August. I decided it was an appropriate photo to submit since it is SO hot here in Texas.

This photo was taken at the Te Puia Geothermal Park in New Zealand. As far as post processing, I cropped minimally, increased the saturation and contrast. It was a fascinating place with interesting formations to photograph

I think this image is very interesting and thought provoking. I like the colors and the mood bought out by the fog or mist. To my eye you achieved a goor three dimensional feel.   Posted: 08/03/2019 13:36:26

Thanks for your comments, Lou. It's a bit different kind of subject and I really appreciate the feedback. I have been a bit concerned about the scale and if people could deduct that it is really big.   Posted: 08/07/2019 17:20:58

What a fascinating image!

I just wonder if darkening the sky a tad would make the tree stand out more.
Also, have you tried working on this picture in B&W; a really contrasty monochrome might work well.

Thanks for the feedback. Learning more about monochrome and doing more conversions is on my to do list. I think I have many photographs that would work well. I just need to jump in and start. Thanks for your thoughts on that.   Posted: 08/20/2019 13:43:51
