About the Image(s)

Well I took the picture Sunday morning, as I was visiting my parents, and love to take bird pictures. This one I took it into the sun's direction, so it was taken with the idea of a silhouette. I shot this with my Fujifilm camera with a 110mm lens, iso 320, 1/4000s, f7.1. Decided to leave it in color, as the background I found appealing. I did not shoot burst so this is the only shot I got, and would have preferred the scene just a split second prior to when this was taken, but I have separation, so it works for me. I chose what I found to be an interesting angle and framing. I tried allowing some detail in the light fixture but it seems to be a distraction so I made it all dark.

I like the way you have cropped in making the image almost abstract. The composition creates a nice triangle with the bird on the verticle third.
I agree you do have some separation but probably, as you say, a fraction earlier would have given more.
In PS I tried it in B&W but couldn't make up my mind which I preferred that or the colour. B&W makes it into a very stark abstract image which I liked. All down to taste and what you wanted to portray.
Well spotted and as usual a great image.

Silhoutte and composition werking very well, agree with the blue black contrast. Well observed!   Posted: 04/07/2021 04:49:19

Nice silhouette! The blue black contrast is striking. I might consider cropping in even more to draw more attention to the bird, as opposed to the light fixture occupying such a large portion of the image. I love that you went for a silhouette!
