About the Image(s)

I have to admit straight off that this is not my idea but a replicate of one I have seen on the internet. If people are not happy with me showing this then please let me know and I will replace with another image!!
Took lot of doing to get the shadow right using an off camera flash. I tried very hard to get it all done in camera but had to resort to using two images and cutting my hand out of one to place in right place on the other!!! Not easy trying to put hand in right place, look at LCD screen and press shutter all at once!!
Taken with my Canon M6 Mk11, 100mm macro lens. f6 at 1.3secs

This is so interesting. I really like the s of the spring. Great perseverance with regard to your patience in creating this image.   Posted: 05/01/2020 22:24:29

I am a bit disturbed by the shadow between middle and ring finger, maybe take the picture of the hand with defuse light ... if your goal is to leave the impression that you draw the shadow of the spring yourselves?   Posted: 05/02/2020 02:59:47

Totally agree with you about that shadow!! Did try to remove it but was making a hash of it so gave up. Will give it another go, thanks.   Posted: 05/04/2020 05:49:15

Knew this was yours as soon as I looked at your groups images. I'm not in the least bother that you are picking up ideas from elsewhere - don't we all do that? You did a good job cutting out your hand but if you had just cut out the shadow between you fingers that would have helped.   Posted: 05/06/2020 05:25:04

I always look forward to your creative ideas, Angela. This is wonderfully done! I had never seen this done before. I personally would like to see a bit of a drop shadow for your hand, perhaps the intensity of the pencil shadow. I think it grounds the hand and gives the shot more realism, since the pencil, has a bit of a cast shadow. I know a lot went into your setup,..great job!   Posted: 05/12/2020 08:57:49

Angela, your creativity is outstanding, and this photograph is deep despite its simplicity. The hand and pencil are much sharper than the spring and shadow, and i would like to see the same sharpness in that too. And to have more surrounding what you display, not much, but it seems tight to me. Finally, the story is finished, as the spring shadow drawing is complete, and I then wonder where does it go from here, and I do not know but for the pencil off the paper. I would like to see it incomplete and have my brain start to fill in the next part of the drawing, bringing anticipated action into the scene. Very creative.................   Posted: 05/18/2020 07:56:44

Oh this is interesting! Only 2 weeks back I was playing around with the spring inside the pens. And voila, I see this. This is very well done.

And do you know one of the members of my club in India recently submitted this sort of an image on our group for a theme - wondering if that person got inspired by your image? :)   Posted: 05/19/2020 12:28:50

More likely I was inspired by them as no imagination of my own!!!   Posted: 05/19/2020 14:52:13
