Last light by Janet McLaughlin

March 2020 - Last light

About the Image(s)

I shot this with Nikon D750 and a Lensbaby Velvet 85.
ISO 400
F4
1/50
The light was fading fast, but this still had a bit of light on the petals. I used Snapseed to give it an almost square crop, and I added a vignette to further blur out the rather blah areas around the flower and to help highlight the flower.

Really like the treatment you have given to this image!! The vignette makes it really stand out and lovely light as well.
I wonder whether the centre could have been a bit sharper?
Well done though!!

Janet, how beautiful. You nailed it. Unique take, that I find effective. Wonderfully creative, and such a beautiful flower.   Posted: 03/05/2020 17:06:59

Very sharp anther on the stamen, guess that was the intention, nice, for my taste the vignet is to heavy - but that is personal taste, kt Noël   Posted: 03/13/2020 09:39:37
