January 2020 - Shadow Dancers

About the Image(s)

One of the Tribes of Nagaland in India, called the Angami tribes, performing at the Hornbill festival (Dec 2019) with vigour. This is an annually done and called as the, "Festival of Festivals". All 17 tribes residing in parts of the state of Nagaland come here to showcase their cultural heritage and richness in the form of the dances and lifestyle setups.

I particularly loved the shadows they cast on the ground and it got longer as they jumped up each time in the air!

Image taken just at the right time with all of their feet clear of the ground!! A really colourful scene and lot of atmosphere of which there must have been a lot if actually there!! Good leading lines from the top right hand corner right through the image. Perhaps would have liked just a little more space on the left so the last dancers "tassles" were not cut off!
Well done.   Posted: 01/09/2020 00:20:29

Hema, you go them all off the ground, and shadows to the right. A good story here, and all i could suggest is to tone down the grass, and increase highlights on the faces on the left, and if you have a little more room on the left, then just a tab.   Posted: 01/09/2020 09:19:18

Hema, you got this shot at just the right moment, with everyone in the air. I'm sure this was a very exciting event!   Posted: 01/09/2020 21:12:36
