Think you have nailed it this time!! A great shot and it has the added interest of the bird holding it's meal. Left hand side of branch a bit soft but other than that spot on, well done!!   Posted: 01/01/2020 10:10:51

Bonne, great capture. lovely background, and the bird tack sharp. A little soft at the end of the stick, but that is ok, but I wonder why the bug is not more sharp, which I find a little distracting. The bird is the subject, so that is what counts. Love the angle, and the catch-light in the eye.

To get a real soft background I always use a wide focus opening (here f4.0) giving a very narrow depth of field (8 cm in this case), this makes that parts of the picture not in the focal plane starts to be soft, my goal is always have the model's eye (here a bird) tac sharp.   Posted: 01/06/2020 00:31:48

I love that, taking a pic wide open as you point out, and among some known as Randy 2.8. lol. Thanks for the info.   Posted: 01/06/2020 05:14:46

Lovely bird shot, Bonne! You got this at just the right time...before he eats his prey!   Posted: 01/01/2020 19:08:46

Fabulous image. The bird is tack sharp and I love the soft background. That the branch goes out of focus is appealing. Very well done!   Posted: 01/18/2020 19:14:01
