After the rainstorm by Brent Doornbos

October 2019 - After the rainstorm

About the Image(s)

I was out taking pics after a storm with high winds. I liked the look of the coleus, esp after I converted to B&W.
Some of the larger wind damage to buildings/trees was more dramatic, I liked how this was more subtle and "smaller scale".

Really like the and I think the composition is spot on. The main subjects are lovely and sharp but a nice blurred background but still enough detail to see it is a garden. I think the B&W conversion suits it well and shows up lots of detail.
Only thing I might think of doing is to try and darken the highlight area in the BG as a bit distracting.
Well done!!   Posted: 10/06/2019 10:15:10

Subtle and profound. You find the large in the small. Well done. Great title also--I advocate for good titles--look how the title explains the relationship between the large and the small.   Posted: 10/08/2019 21:17:11

Very interesting composition, Brent! I think B&W is the best choice for this picture!   Posted: 10/21/2019 10:59:03
