About the Image(s)

Taken: 7/1/17 @ 8:30 pm

I was on my way to Great Sand Dunes National Monument and this scene presented itself. Sometimes running late leads to unexpected and great things! A rain squall had just gone through, the clouds were breaking up, the sun was setting and giving some beautiful colors. The “foothills” to the right of the tree are actually some of the sand dunes. The mountains in the background are the east end of the San Juan range. This is one of my favorite Colorado photos.

Well spotted and a great shot. It seems to almost be as if it is a painting!! Love the colours and it has a real atmosphere. The lighting in my opinion has been handled well. Only little suggestion is to slightly clone out the branch on the left hand side that is going out of shot? Just enough so it finishes with a small space before the edge?   Posted: 03/05/2019 16:10:42

Sandy, a cool shot, and love the rendering. Nicely seen. And the boarder merge on the left, maybe you clone out that branch.   Posted: 03/09/2019 13:24:53

This is a wonderful image. I like the angle of the tree leading the viewer into the scene and the vivid colors.
