About the Image(s)

For this month I decided to work on an old photo I had. I couldn't determine what direction to take the photo in so all I did was crop the image to help center my image. Beyond that I am unsure what I want to do with it.

Beautiful Lotus flowers with their vibrant colors. A higher viewpoint and removal of distracting background (water) would have made your subject more interesting. Please try to improve the image and resubmit.   Posted: 03/08/2023 16:52:26

Jacob the tones and colours in the flowers themselves are lovely. I wonder if you try to do something like Nadia has done this month. Isolate the central flower and put it on a black background to make it the star. I rather like the angle and the flower once isolated could be worked with interesting light - dodge and burn. I would love to see you try a few things and post back here.   Posted: 03/12/2023 11:22:37

Jacob, that's a killer color and tend to agree with some other comments that singling out the main flower from the background may be the way to go with this. The background and the reddish Lilly steal my eye a bit. Lots to play with here.   Posted: 03/13/2023 18:25:51

Hi Jacob, I tend to agree with the others, the flowers and the colour are striking but the water in the background detracts from the beauty. If you want to keep them in their environment, then my suggestion is to blur the background somewhat and darken it. Good on you for taking 2 flowers at that angle and both seem in focus.   Posted: 03/16/2023 04:46:34
