About the Image(s)
Taken on a spring day with Canon EOS 7D with EF100 - 400m zoom lens. One of the many flower agapanthus flowers in summer. I saw flower bud and thought it made an interest composition. Basic adjustments in Adobe Camera Raw and then in Photoshop. I cloned out the blurred flower in the background and darken it. I also saturated the flower to accentuate the purple colour. Cropped into a square.

Nadia, once again you have provided us with a lovely image. I like what you have done to make this a stand along piece. Isolating the flower on the black makes it into more of an art piece too. Good job on the details and saturation adjustment.   Posted: 03/10/2023 18:58:43
Hi Kathryn, thank you, I appreciate your feedback.   Posted: 03/12/2023 04:27:19
Fabulous image. My wife (who sees colors much better than I) pointed out the the flower is now blue. Also, that the casing has a green cast compared to the original. Would it be possible to intensify the purple without turning it blue?   Posted: 03/13/2023 14:44:17
Doug, thanks for your feedback, I appreciate your comments. Just want to let you know that I had the white balance on "shade" (about 7,500 Kelvin) and that is the reason for the purpole colour of the flower. I did a white balance correction in Camera Raw and brought it back to the original colour. Most of the Agapanthus flowers in my garden are blue. If you look at the original casing, there's green colour there and all I did is bring that out more via saturation and colour contrast. I wanted to highlight the detail in the casing.   Posted: 03/15/2023 04:32:58
Nadia, this a sumptuous image of the Agapanthus blossoms. The color, though not the original, is deep and very pleasing. The composition is an unusual one, but works very well here. Beautiful job, wouldn't change a thing.   Posted: 03/13/2023 18:30:08

This is a stunning photo. The black background really makes the plant stand out. The tight crop helps draw focus to the subject and makes it more cohesive. Overall well done.   Posted: 03/16/2023 12:52:22
