Hi Richard, I am visiting from Monochrome Group 32. This is a great image with a perfect title. You have captured strips and patterns everywhere--railing, shadows, bridge structure, lamp posts, and building facades.
Some of us debate about having a focal point in such architectural images. How would this image look without the woman in it?
Here it is in monochrome, emphasizing light and dark, but of course losing that great yellow?
Also, do tell us the story of how you saw and shot it, and technical data for those interested.   Posted: 01/01/2019 23:00:08

Stephen, Thank you for the visit.
Not sure what happened but here it is. I was taking pictures of bridge reflections (see group 48) and decided to cross the bridge. As I crossed I was hoping some one would come along so I could "add" a person to the scene.
I got lucky. This young women with her striped sweater came along. If I was truly ready I would have shot a bit faster
Taken with my Olympus and a 14-150mm zoom at 1/80 f18 ISO 500
Processing simply added on the shadow and the saturation slider. The biggest processing decision was keeping it in color. Fairly unusual for me

I do like the B&W image but as I implied above B&W tends to be my default thinking and I want to take advantage of the bright yellow.

Hi Richard!
I'm visiting from DD group 3 and 85.... I saw the Street group and thanks to the beautiful yellow of the bridge, I recognized where this was, my hometown! I love all the lines and the textures and the compression of the compression of the buildings and the bridge. And the girl with her striped sweater adds greatly. Nice work.   Posted: 01/09/2019 09:36:16

Hi Richard,
Love the yellow metalwork, I find that the girl's striped coat is a little on the dark side.
Great title to the image.
Well captured.

Lines, lines and more lines. And then the rectangles start. And then the street lamps join in. Followed by the round handrails. And the yellow jumps out and gabs you. And the woman just puts the finishing touch on a great shot. I never get tired of looking at this. Great shot Rich!   Posted: 01/26/2019 20:18:46
