About the Image(s)

On March 27 and 28, Chester County, Pennsylvania, held Covid-19 memorials at three county parks. I went to the one at Nottingham Park where there were 747 spinners in the sun. Each represented a county citizen who died from Covid. As they spun in the breeze it was like the prayer flags in the Himalaya. I photographed from a low angle with a tripod mounted Leica Q2 Monochrome camera and 10 stop neutral density filter to blur the spinners motion. The graphic quality of monochrome helped enforce the starkness of these premature deaths. I layered in a vignetted copy of the exhibit sign at 50% opacity to help explain the scene. Post: By working on the ground for a half hour I unsuspectingly attracted a deer tick that I had to remove from my shoulder the next day.

What an interesting photo. "Covid Memorial" could be a better title, "Deaths" is non-specific if the lettering were not there. I find the letters distracting to the photo, and if you could move it to the title or an explanation below the photo, I think the photo woudl speak for tiself. I like your ground perspective and the motion of the pinwheels. Sorry to hear about the deer tick!
