Happy New Year by Judith Lesnaw

December 2019 - Happy New Year

About the Image(s)

This image was created by zooming a lens focused on a gold-colored French Horn Christmas ornament hung on a decorated and lighted Christmas tree. I used a Canon Rebel 3Ti with a Canon EF 18-200mm lens. Camera settings were 0.4 sec; f 5.6; ISO 800.

What a fun idea for a New Year photo! Lovely colors and tones coming out from the pull of your camera lens combined with the tree and gold. It reminds me of the Victrola or Gramophone horn - the classic one with the dog leaning his ear to it. So it is like you have captured sound waves here, and ringing in the New Year!   Posted: 12/11/2019 22:20:18

Yes! Just as Lauren says. The old gramophone logo. His Master's Voice. What fun Judith. I like this image a lot. You've achieved a really interesting and impactful result. I am enjoying the colour palette. Great composition! A very fitting image for this time of year. A Merry Xmas to you and all the best for 2020!!   Posted: 12/12/2019 13:21:52

Hi Judy, Star Wars comes to the music world in a land far away. This is an outstanding zoom. A lot of its impact comes from the wide color palette. You have mastered the technique well. You might consider a show of zooms/blurs using your new frames.
