About the Image(s)

I had the opportunity to make a road trip with my camera club to Ennis, Texas to photograph the Bluebonnets. We had a great trip. The bluebonnets did not disappoint. Every day we went in a different direction. The weather was nice but a little windy. One place we stop we stayed a while and I got this image. I loved the way the little girl was running in the fields and the wind was blowing the flowers and the long grass. The little girl the lady is holding got in some ants and the little girl was not too happy. I was using my 28mm-300mm lens at 230mm. The time of day was 11:06, and it was an overcast day. I was using my Nikon D800, 1/640sec, 5.6f ISO 400. To me after, when I finish processing the image it looked like a painting. I cropped the image. I added more flowers and took out any distractions.

This is an absolutely beautiful image Linda - what a great capture. I think your processing here is perfect and does give the image a painterly quality. I brought your finished image into Topaz and used the Cezanne preset just to see what your photo would look like as a "painting". I like your effort better but can also see using Topaz to create some interesting looks for greeting cards.   Posted: 05/11/2022 11:54:40

Yes Michael, this is very beautiful using the Topaz Software. It does look like a painting. Thank you for this idea.   Posted: 05/11/2022 12:13:33

Linda, this is a wonderful photo, to me evoking the quiet joys of youth. I love the way you've handled the processing. The girl's hair color and the other colors are super, as is the fact that she's running with a flower in her hand. One little nit-pick is that the bluebells at the bottom of her dress draw my eye; they are nicely sharp but, in my opinion, they could be de-saturated a tad.   Posted: 05/13/2022 17:23:32

What a beautiful, peaceful image Linda. The composition is spot on to me, with this lovely little lady having room to run into the frame on the right. Your timing captured a great flip of her ponytail as she is moving through the flowers. The colors are just wonderful as well. Everything about this makes me smile.

This would be a perfect illustration for a romantic (charming, not sexy) novel. She seems to be running in a dream. I love it.   Posted: 05/18/2022 10:57:56
