About the Image(s)

Thank you everyone for your comments, suggestions and feedback last month. I have worked on another MMA image for this month, taken at the same training session as the previous image.

After the usual crop, tidy and tone, I stamped up so I could work on the image as a double exposure. I played with the size and movement of the second exposure, and had lots of fun experimenting! I prefer this slightly more subtle effect over some I created that looked like multiple versions of the two opponents fighting. They were a bit 'cartoonish' for my taste.

I also tried a black and white conversion, but even though the fighter on the LHS is wearing a multi-coloured, potentially distracting shirt, I still prefer the colour version.

I look forward to your comments :)

Another excellent action shot...

Here's my take. Since I agree the shirt is distracting, desaturate it and the red bits on the protectors. In addition the LH women is not moving much so she needs less motion., and she's a tad too bright, taking the focus off our hero.   Posted: 06/10/2020 20:33:44

I agree with Witta, and really like what she did to correct brightness on the left combatant.   Posted: 06/11/2020 08:18:06

Mary, Looks like you're working on an interesting MMA training series. My take is much the same as Witta's comment. I like the motion on the hero, but it should be removed from the woman holding the pads who doesn't seem to be moving. It's also a good suggestion to desaturate the busy top she's wearing. Well done.   Posted: 06/12/2020 18:37:08

I agree with all of the above. But one little thing: you did a great job removing the extra leg in the back. It really is distracting. Nut there is still a little bit of bright color at the upper right thigh of the kicker. That is easy to correct by more-or-less painting with black using a very small brush. Love the expression on her face - very fierce for such a pretty girl.   Posted: 06/17/2020 17:09:39

Great action shot! I really can't add anything that hasn't already been said. You might consider some of those suggestions, but I think you have a solid image. Nice job.   Posted: 06/20/2020 20:37:50
