About the Image(s)

I drove by this barn about 30 minutes from my home and decided to take a picture of it. I usually don’t like to do a lot of post processing with the pictures I take, but this one needed some help. I wanted to try a few new things I learned to do in Photoshop the past few weeks. Sky replacement was one, and really easy to do. The other was content aware scale which I used to compress the road in front of the fence to try and make the barn stand out more. Pentax K-1, 1/100 sec, f13, at 68mm.

The S-shaped drive is wonderful and I love the contouring shadow of the fence at right along the drive. You did a good job of cropping at left. I pulled back the blue in the sky a tad and lighten the shadow on the barn a tad too so it is more like your original. And who doesn't like horses in an image like this? A nice country scene worthy of a calendar month!   Posted: 04/10/2021 18:32:00

You have handled the contrast in this scene very well Jay. The bright light on the fence on the left side and the foreground are not overdone, while the shadow on the barn's roof tells us that the facing wall is in shadow. You have managed to keep adequate detail in that wall rather than have it almost plain colour. Well done with the sky replacement, that is one of many things I am yet to try my hand at in processing.   Posted: 04/15/2021 07:04:01
