About the Image(s)

Canon 5DM3, EF50mm f/25 1/200 ISO 200 off camera flash

I have been taking a course to paint flowers in photoshop, and this is one of my attempts. I extracted the orchid, placed it on a different background, and used mixer brushes to paint it.

Cyndy, this is wonderful. Sometimes I'm not that fond of these painted flowers, but this one is different and so well done. The additional post processing you may have done is wonderful as well - removing the other flowers and using possibly a texture for the background. Very well done!   Posted: 02/07/2021 12:17:20

Heidi - Thanks, the course has been alot of fun, and it is so relaxing to paint the leaves with headphones and music. Yes, alot of PP was done, but I believe it was worth it in the end.   Posted: 02/08/2021 08:55:17

This is the best image I have seen you produce Cyndy. The details, colours, depth and final presentation are exceptionally good. I my humble opinion, some images loose their impact when they are printed too large, I don't think this one would. It deserves to be the center piece in an exhibition. You made a very wise decision to do that course. Absolutely stunning.   Posted: 02/07/2021 18:55:20

Beautiful image Cyndy. The way you isolated the flower, lighting, and colors are really great. An outstanding result.   Posted: 02/08/2021 20:15:57

Great choice in cutting out the orchid and the background you created for it. You've improved greatly on the coloration and texture of the flower from the original. An amazing result!   Posted: 02/20/2021 11:20:10
